Croyde Bay and the surrounding area of the North Devon coastline offers excellent surfing opportunities regarded as amongst the best in the UK. It regularly holds national competitions and the annual Gold Coast Ocean Fest.

Croyde Bay is located near to other surfing beaches such as Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Putsborough. Surf Schools and shops operate in the bay and in the local area.
